Een mysterieuze en metafysische interpretatie van de legende van de Vliegende Hollander. Jaren 30. In een kleine Spaanse zeehaven genaamd Esperanza verschijnt Hendrick van der Zee, de mysterieuze kapitein van een jacht. Pandora is een schitterende vrouw die elke man om haar vingers kan winden. Ze is nog nooit echt verliefd geworden, maar ze wordt erg aangetrokken door Hendrick. Al snel wordt duidelijk dat Hendrick de Vliegende Hollander is, de legendarische 17e-eeuwse bezeiler van de wateren die door God gedoemd werd om tot in de eeuwigheid over de wateren te varen... Het enige wat hem nog redden kan, is een vrouw die bereid is voor hem te sterven.
